Yep, this is it

My breed. I love these little stumpy dogs. I really do. At least I love mine. And I love those related to mine. And I love Simon and Caleb. I love the fact that we can get them all together and no one tries to dominate. They just want to have fun.

Ginger is beginning to assert herself a bit with the puppy. It is such a fine line between letting her teach the baby, and letting her dominate the baby. Domination is NOT OK. That is MY job. We have had a couple of incidents lately where I have had to let her know where that line is. Luckily she wants to please, in her crazy cardi kind of way, so she has figured it out and I have only had to remind her once.

Kate is still a bit broken, so she holds a special place. She basically stays out of the way if it gets too wild. All respect her space. She will always hold a special place. She is my first. Her smile, when she has a ball, is incredible. Pure joy.

Nugget is my fretter. He is always most concerned that I am pleased with him. How could I not be? He still plays hard with the pups. He is one of those dogs that will do almost anything I ask of him. He is probably too sensitive, if there is such a thing. He does help me keep my feelings in check, as he knows when I am upset. He really is a perfect service dog.

And that leaves little Zoe. My little blue baby. At times completely oblivious. She cracks me up. She loves everyone, and everyone loves her. She runs with the big dogs; without a care in the world. One odd blue in a sea of black. I cannot wait for more decent weather, and longer periods of light, so we can get her housebroken. She is my adorable squishy puppy. When I call her, she sits down and stares at me with cocked head. She is a baddog, in a very good way.

Kate, going on five years. Nugget, just turned two. Ginger is a couple of days shy of seven months. Zoe is just three months.

My house, my heart, and my life is pretty darn full.

(Thanks to all involved for the photos, and for the subjects of the photos, as well. I am not sure why you are in my life, and I am truly humbled. )

Nah, we're lucky to have you in our lives. :D

I love these little-big dogs and the people they've brought together, and the friendships both dog and human that they've given me.

Plus, your crew is awesome, I love thoughtful, careful, kind Nugget, silly Ginger, happy sweet Zoe, and of course, joyful ball fetchin' people kissing Kate.
